IIM Kashipur FIED sanctions 1.6 Crore Funding to 10 Agriculture focused Start-ups

Here is all you need to know about the first Agriculture Consortium 2023 organised at IIM Kashipur. A whopping 1.6 crore rupee funding was stationed to 10 agricultural startups working in various fields.

IIM Kashipur: As the recently organised Agri Entrepreneurship in South Asia Consortium 2023 concluded in IIM Kashipur, a total of 10 agricultural-based startups received a total funding of around 1.6 crore rupees. In this two-day Agriculture consortium, several of India’s Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) came together to create first of its kind consortium supported by IIM Kashipur’s Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FIED) incubation centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Ten startup companies working in various sectors of agriculture including drone surveillance, Hydroponics, Agri-biotechnology, and more received this funding during this consortium.

The two-day Consortium provided a common platform for academia, industry professionals, students, researchers and startup owners to interact and exchange new innovations and ideas in the agriculture industry and promote sustainable growth with new inventions. As an initiative to promote new innovations in the Agricultural sector, the RKVY RAFTAAR Scheme, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare approved a total of 1 crore 60 lacs in ten different agriculture-based startup companies operating in the fields of Drone technology, Food processing, Agri supply chain, Hydroponics, Agri biotechnology, and Waste to wealth industries.

Professor Kulbhushan Balooni, Director of IIM Kashipur addressed the participants and the guests by thanking them for making the Agri Consortium by IIM Kashipur a success. He further added that this consortium performed as a platform to share information on agri-startups supported by member higher education institutions (HEIs) from various parts of the country.

A total of ten HEIs, including IVRI Bareilly, IGKV-Raipur, GB Pant UniversityCCS Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar, Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University, Pusa Krishi, New Delhi CS NIAM Jaipur, VCSJ Uttarakhand University of Forestry & Horticulture, Bharsar, Uttarakhand, and IIm Kashipur have come together to collaborate in the future in this Agri-Consortium 2023.
