The Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur has conducted the trimester exams of the first-year students successfully online. Out of the batch of 270 students, roughly 60 per cent opted for the online exam from home. The remaining students who could not appear for the exam due to various reasons such as internet issues can take the exam offline later.
Though the tentative date for the exam was July but due to the COVID-19 situation in the nation, there is no clarity regarding when will the exams be held. A spokesperson from IIM Kashipur said the question papers for both offline as well as online exams will be set by the same faculty and the difficulty level of both the modes will be similar. The institute will use the normalisation process to calculate the marks. The same process is used for IIM entrance exams such as CAT.

IIM Kashipur had earlier decided to postpone the exams but then resorted to online technology. Students were given the option to appear for the exam while they were at home. Since the students are doing digital internships, the exam was conducted in the evening for students’ convenience.
