One of the popular private banks in India, Axis Bank has entered into a significant collaboration with Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L). A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two organisations in this regard following which all the female candidates joining IPMX (International Programme in Management for Executives) and one-year executive MBA course at IIM Lucknow will be given an opportunity to join Axis Bank after the completion of their course. The overall objective of this collaboration is to offer placement opportunities to female candidates at Axis Bank branches after their course completion at IIM Lucknow.

The female students who complete any one of the courses (as mentioned above) will be recruited by Axis Bank through an initiative called WE Lead. CEO of Axis Bank – Shikha Sharma launched this initiative to offer placements to deserving and skilled female students. Apart from providing placements, WE Lead also focuses on inclusivity, nurturing and leadership by developing mid-managerial talent among women. We Lead is an initiative to understand recruiting partners and IIM Lucknow’s needs.

Starting their career with Axis Bank will give a push to better career opportunities for the IIM Lucknow graduates who will at some point of time work towards progressive growth. By continuing to stay in the workforce, on the other hand, they can also make their way to senior and level positions through their creativity and skills. Axis Bank also conducts ‘lateral hiring programme’ for women who are back in the field after a time-out.
Axis Bank’s move to recruit IIM Lucknow students is indeed a good one! Female candidates who join the Executive MBA and IPMX courses at IIM Lucknow need not worry about placements as Axis Bank offers guarantee placements through a formal selection process.
