As a part of ‘Freedom Fortnight Programme’, IIM Raipur in collaboration with IIT Bhilai and Government Engineering College organised ‘Tree Plantation Drive.' Dr. AK Dubey, Principal, GEC Raipur has taken the lead and initiated the plantation drive. A total number of 300 saplings were planted on IIM and GEC campuses.

Faculty members and students supported the plantation drive. Around 100 coconut trees were planted in the mass plantation drive. It is a great initiative taken by these three institutes.

On this occasion, students expressed that each and every citizen must play a significant role in protecting the environment. The temperature of the Earth has been gradually increasing and to avoid this mass plantation drives have to be taken extensively. The Carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere has been increasing due to pollution. At this juncture, the plantation is the only option to protect the environment.
