IIM-Tiruchi is planning to shift to its own campus placed near the Bharathidasan University on Tiruchi-Pudukottai Road in the month of June this year as per information.
It was its fifth foundation day celebrations on 4 January when Professor Director Prafulla Agnihotri informed that the construction work done in the various buildings is going on at a rapid pace and will be over in a short time, along with classrooms of world class. Just as IIM-Tiruchi, there has been no IIMs that has shifted to its own campus in a short time span of five years of its inception. Prof. Agnihotri added that there are plans to provide maximum green cover regarding the new campus. In fact, close to 2,000 saplings have already been nurtured prior to planting on the new campus. In addition to providing natural beauty, a cool atmosphere will be created in this process.
Prof. Agnihotri informed that the institute was still achieving cent per cent placement per year and further, it is was striving to be one of the top ten IIMs soon.
D. Shivakumar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Pepsico India Private Holdings, who was also the chief guest at the event, said that students can initially identify what they are passionate about. The Managing Director and Head of PBC Deutsche Bank, Mr. Prashant Joshi stated that theoretical lessons apart, the experience that is practically gained carried more importance. He also stressed on the want for professional intellectual honesty, gratitude, and integrity.
A short time back, three students were presented the award of a certificate of appreciation for “Make a Difference” project by Mr. Shivakumar. In addition, Ravikumar, the Centre-in-charge of IIM-T Chennai Centre, was felicitated for the service that he provided during the Chennai floods.
