IIM Udaipur has started the application process for PhD in Management in Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Organisational Behavior & Human Resources and Operations Management. The course is designed differently from the MBA curriculum as the students while pursuing PhD will have to take up a comprehensive exam post which will cover methods, foundational subjects and advanced courses in specialisation. The course will also offer specific core courses along with the foundation method and research courses to help in better understanding.
Highlighting the research Prof. Janat Shah, IIM Udaipur Director said he believes that research is the key for any B school which aims to be at par with the global standards. The PhD students have the option of benefiting from the research ecosystem built at IIM Udaipur. The PhD program at IIMU has been designed keeping with practicums, opportunities for exchange with leading global scholars and specialised coursework. IIMU is also at the 4th rank among Indian Business schools on the basis of research published in leading global journals.

The PhD students enjoy course fee waiver and receive monthly stipend. All the PhD students are given single accommodation at no charge and they can avail shared office space on the campus. IIM Udaipur also has collaborated with other institutes and has joint programs inside and outside India. It also offers grants to students to take part in national as well as international conferences.
IIM Udaipur PhD Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for pursuing PhD at IIM Udaipur are as follows:
- Master’s degree in any discipline with minimum 55% and BA degree or equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks or professional qualification such as CA, CS with a bachelor’s degree Or
- A four year/eight semester bachelor’s degree with CGPA 6.5 or its equivalent.
