The ‘Texas Instruments’ is collaborating with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Karnataka powered by an All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) mission, to conduct ‘DST and Texas Instruments India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019.’ The event is being anchored by NSRCEL and Indian Institute of Management - IIM Bangalore (IIMB) . The government of India supports the event through myGov initiative.
The students who are pursuing engineering courses at bachelors, masters or doctoral-level from any Indian institute are eligible to participate in the India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019.
The organising entities have collaborated to strengthen the ecosystem for innovation-led studies, enhance skills and encourage a start-up culture between engineering students by guaranteeing that the ‘design innovation challenge’ is open to engineering students even in rural corners of the country.
Texas Instruments (TI) has invited all the student innovators, makers and thinkers of India to be a part of the innovation revolution. The organisers appeal to the students who dream to create something new and aspire to make a difference to contribute to India's success towards making the country an innovation hub. Selected students for the challenge will receive all the technical support from Texas Instruments and business mentorship from IIM Bangalore. Last but not least, DST will render funding of INR 4.94 crores.

Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019 Eligibility Criteria
- All Indian engineering students pursuing any of undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral degrees in any Indian engineering college are eligible to apply.
- The participants must be the citizens of India.
- Texas Instruments (TI) will be providing TI tools worth up to 200$ for each team without any cost. The candidate must use all TI devices for their solution.
How to apply for the Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019?
The team leader of each team must follow the following steps to participate in NDC:
- The leader should create an account on the MyGov website at https://auth.mygov.in
- In the website, he/she should click on the ‘India Innovation Challenge’ icon.
- On the contest page of ‘India Innovation Challenge,’ the candidate has to scroll to the ‘participate’ section and click on ‘login To Participate’ link.
- After entering the login credentials and the page will be redirected to the home page of the website
- Click on the ‘India Innovation Challenge’ icon on the homepage again to head towards the contest webpage
- On the contest page of ‘India Innovation Challenge,’ the candidate would scroll towards the bottom of the page to find out the submission form
- The candidate will have to enter details as per the requirements in the registration page and follow instructions on the portal.
- After successful submission, a confirmation email will be received.
- For additional information, the candidate will be contacted via email.
- All the communication process shall be through email and Text Message on the mobile number provided by the candidate at the time of registration. Organizers are not liable in case of SMS or email delivery failures (if occurs).

Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2019 Selection Process
- The full evaluation will be based on the framework designed by IIM Bangalore in collaboration with Texas Instruments.
- The base of the evaluation framework is built by Business Potential and Technical Innovation.
- The evaluation panel will be comprised of stalwarts from the startup ecosystem, industry leaders and domain experts

- 1.44 stipends for incubates
- 2 crore seed fund to 10 top startups
- 1.5 Crore product development funds for the top 30 teams
- Free Texas Instrument (TI) Tools worth up to rupees 70 lakh to the participants
- More than 25000 certificates spread to give away across the whole contest
- More than 600 types of cash prizes spread throughout the contest for the contestants totalling up to 50 lakhs rupees
