The Amravati campus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication has launched a PG Diploma course in Marathi Journalism for the academic session 2017-18. The official inaugural session will take place at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) New Delhi on August 2, 2017. Union Home Minister (State), Mr. Hansraj Ahir will inaugurate the course formally.
IIMC Amravati has been offering PG Diploma in English Journalism since 2011. Director of IIMC Amravati (Western Region), Mr. Nadeem Khan revealed that the course in Marathi Journalism will meet the demands of Marathi media in the state. The course will provide a skilled workforce in the field. PG Diploma course in Marathi Journalism will boost up the standard of Marathi Journalism in Maharashtra.

IIMC will invite senior journalists from the Marathi media in Maharashtra and eminent editors to guide the students. Efficient faculty members will be appointed to teach the students.
IIMC Amravati has launched the PG Diploma in Marathi Journalism in memory of Lokamanya Tilak who was a key contributor to Marathi journalism.
Recently, IIMC launched PG Diploma course in Urdu Journalism. Similarly, IIMC was in plans to introduce Journalism course in regional languages. IIMC has already been running various short-term courses in different regions of the country. The short-term courses received tremendous response from students.

IIMC has recently issued a new code of conduct regarding the fair usage of social media. The premier journalism and mass communication institute in India has advised the students to use social media like Facebook only for knowledge sharing and gaining.
