Indian Institute of Mass Communication or IIMC will come up with a short-term course in Sanskrit Journalism soon. For this purpose, IIMC has collaborated with Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha. The short-term programme in Sanskrit Journalism will be an advanced course, the duration of which will be three months. Director of IIMC made this announcement while addressing the students at the annual day celebrations. Indian Languages Department at IIMC will offer the short-term course in Sanskrit Journalism.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Vidyapeetha will provide the required language skills that are essential for Sanskrit Journalism course. IIMC will train the students in the skills required for journalism. On the successful completion of the course, the candidates will be awarded a certificate in Sanskrit Journalism.
Speaking about the career prospects in Sanskrit Journalism, Director of IIMC indicated that Sanskrit media is an evolutionary process right now. On the other hand, many students are showing interest to take up a course in Sanskrit Journalism hoping for better career prospects in future. Community Radio Station at IIMC will facilitate the training classes for the participants.

IIMC’s Executive Council has approved the short-time course in Sanskrit Journalism for which the modalities will be worked out.
In the last fifteen days, the regional centres of IIMC launched journalism courses in Malayalam and Marathi. These courses are witnessing huge demand from the students. IIMC has been offering journalism course in various regional languages. IIMC has paved a way for increasing career prospects in journalism.
