Student Council of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) organized All India Student Representatives conference to discuss the role of students in India’s scientific and sustainable development.

Student Council of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore organized All India Student Representatives conference to discuss the role of students in India’s scientific and sustainable development. The conference was attended by 150 student leaders from institutes across India including IITs, IIMs, NLUs, etc.

Students from various colleges participated actively in the day-long conference. The conference was also attended by former sportsperson and counsellor, Arjun Devaiah. He motivated the students to be the first to act before guiding others on the right path.

He also urged the students to make the most of time they have and promote sustainable development with their unique ideas. Devaiah also asked the students leave a lingering impact on the society that will motivate others to join the cause.

Various sessions were conducted in the conference that were supposed to highlight the role of students in the development of India. The sessions were based on themes like the role of the student in the country's development, how to achieve a sustainable world, gender equality and its importance in the field of sciences.

Chairman of Entrepreneurship, IISc, C S Murli talked about the role of students in the technological and scientific development of the country. He stressed on India’s need to develop its own technology and discussed the problems related to importing technology from western countries.

Additional Chief Secretary, DPAR and DG Administrative Training Institute, Kalpana Gopalan also talked about the importance of gender equality and its relevance for development.
