Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Washington University in St. Louis Research and Education Academy has commenced the third batch of MBA (EMBA) programme. It is a much sought-after joint degree course offered by IIT Bombay in collaboration with Washington University. IIT Bombay is the sole institute in India to offer a joint degree programme like EMBA.
The inaugural session of EMBA programme took place recently and was attended by renowned personalities from business and academia. Mr. Yogi Sriram, Senior Vice-President of L & T was the Chief Guest for the inaugural session. Appreciating the programme, Mr. Yogi Sriram indicated that the joint degree programme offered by Washington University in St. Louis and IIT Bombay is highly beneficial to leaders who are craving for success in ever-changing complexities and business cycles.

Director of IIT Bombay, Prof. Devang Khakhar and HOD at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (IIT Bombay) , Prof. Ganesh Bhargav addressed the students. Some of the alumni members of IIT Bombay were also present during the inaugural session. Prof. Kurt Dirks from Washington University also delivered his keynote address on this occasion.
The joint EMBA degree programme offered by both the premier institutes has a global perspective. The programme delivers highly relevant and superior business education specifically for senior executives by enhancing their managerial competence.

The duration of the course is 18-months wherein the participants need to attend classes only on four days every month. The programme minimally disrupts the lives of busy professionals. About 25% of the class comprises of women. The final three modules of the programme will be held in the United States. Global industry interactions will be a part of the last three modules of the programme.
