For the purpose of promoting technical cooperation and human resource development, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar will be joining hands with a Japanese organisation, the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS).
A memorandum of Understanding will soon be signed between the two parties which will put the initiation of the projects in motion. They have conducted meetings and discussion on the various factors of the collaboration between the delegates of IIT Bhubaneswar and AOTS.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), a department of the Japanese Government had formed the Association of Overseas Technical Cooperations and Sustainable Development. It currently operates as the Japanese government’s organisation for policy implementation in the field of human resource and development in developing with the help of expert dispatch, training and other programmes.
The director of the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, R V Rajakumar has stated that the collaboration will bring forth a change and focus on the professional growth of the student along with providing the students with many opportunities in academic and business events such as events for promoting internships and employment of the students along with the promoting their education as well.
R V Rajakumar also adds that the partnerships will also provide benefits especially for both the countries as they will be able to cooperate for the technological developments that may take place. He adds that the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar will also venture into other fields of study for collaboration such as augmented and virtual reality, robotics, climate change among other areas as well.

The Japanese organisation, Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships will be starting the projects that will bridge the distance between the students of IIT Bhubaneswar and the different Japanese companies, with the help of Japan Desk, Japan Week and Japan Languages. The students of IIT-B will be able to connect with the Japanese Companies with the help of Japan Desk where there will be one representative from Japan. Japan week will introduce the IIT-B students with seminars and placement drives for the various Japanese companies. Classes on Japanese Languages as well as Japanese Soft Skills will enable the students to learn about Japan and its institutions.

A dedicated Japanese desk will be provided to the students if they wish to know more about the various Japanese companies. Along with these projects, there will be projects that are research-research, business-business as well as research and business based and will be focused on helping both the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar and AOTS along with helping both the countries.
