IIT Bombay has opened its gates for students interested in admission to its MDes and PhD programmes. To get admission in the same, students will have to appear for the CEED exam conducted by the institute. The exam was conducted on December 6, 2015 last year in all the centers except Chennai as the students could not appear from the same due to floods. The exam was further postponed to February 14, 2016.
The results for the same were declared on March 18, 2016.

This year, the exam is likely to be conducted in the month of January according to the officials at Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Bombay. Dates for the Common Entrance Examination for Design 2017 (CEED 2017) have not been confirmed yet.
Also, the notification for CEED admission 2017 will be out in the month of October.

Students interested in applying for Master of Design (MDes) course will have to appear for the Common Entrance Examination for Design 2017 (CEED 2017) as it is the selection criteria for the same.
The exam usually has two parts:
- MCQ, MSQ and NAT questions
- Subjective design/drawing related questions
