The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority ( MMRDA ) recently organized a competition to come up with a final design for the Integrated Ticketing System (ITS) smart cards. However, the committee for ITS could not find a suitable design amongst the entries for the competition.

Therefore, the MMRDA has asked the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay and Sir JJ School of Art to come up with an appropriate design for the ITS smart cards. The committee will extract a few suitable designs for the card and will forward them to the two shortlisted institutes.

IIT Bombay and JJ School of Art will take these prototypes and will give the final design of the card, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, Sanjay Khandare, informed.
