IIT Bombay is going to launch Collaborative Incubation Programme for Hardware and Systems Startups. The programme is being launched in collaboration with The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) and Intel Technology India Pvt Ltd. The main aim of this programme is to boost innovation and entrepreneurship.

IIT Bombay has made a unique collaboration so that the industry, academia and government can come forward to support hardware and system based startups. With this collaboration aimed at encouraging startups, emphasis will be given to training, business services, funding, lab facilities, hardware kits, prototyping and mentoring.

In the programme, the gaps that companies face in product design, commercialization and development will be discussed and figuring out solutions. The call for the first batch of startups will be announced soon. Around 20 startups will be supported.
The duration of the programme is one year in which for the first six months, startups will be supported onsite at SINE, Intel India or IIT Bombay. The rest of the six months the startups’ will be showcased to the investors and extending virtual support to the incubates.
So far, SINE has only supported the startups of IIT Bombay. Through this collaboration, it will help startups throughout the country and increases the ecosystem contribution of IIT Bombay.
