Mr. Arvind Subramanian, Chief Economic Advisor to Government of India will take classes on ‘Trends in Indian Economy’ for economics teachers from various premier institutes. The class will start from the second week of June at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi . It is the first time that a top government functionary has come forward to share his practical experience in guiding the Indian economy teachers.
One of the officials of IIT Delhi revealed that around 100 economic teachers from renowned universities and institutes would take part in the programme. Teachers from DU colleges like Lady Shri Ram College , St. Stephens College , Shri Ram College of Commerce and Hindu College will also take part in the programme.

Mr. Arvind Subramanian will deliver his lecture for seven days (40 hours). Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi will record the lecture. The participation is entirely based on the first-come-first basis.
One of the officials of HRD Ministry informed that they would inform all the institutes regarding the lecture. The classes will take place in the second week of June, and the final decision on the same is pending.

Besides delivering the lecture on ‘Trends in Indian Economy’, Mr. Arvind Subramanian will also speak about GST and demonetization. IIT Delhi will record the lecture and convert it into online courses for the students. The students will then be able to access it on the SWAYAM portal of the government.
The HRD Ministry is making all the necessary efforts to popularize the SWAYAM portal. The lecture series of Mr. Arvind Subramanian will boost the popularity of the portal.
