The intern hiring process for UG (Under Graduate) students at IIT Delhi has commenced. The first weekend of the placement process witnessed the participation of reputed national and international companies. As per the official data of IIT Delhi, 200 students have bagged internship offers so far. Out of 200 offers, 15 were international and 185 were domestic. The premier institute is hoping the same trend and tempo for the rest of the placement reason.
Students received international offers from the companies located in South Korea, United States (US), and Singapore. Out of 15 international offers, a South Korean company Samsung, offered nine internships . Among the domestic offers, Samsung Research India – Bangalore made 21 offers. Microsoft, ICT, Goldman Sachs, and American Express also dominated the placements by offering 10 internships each.

Professor-In-Change of Placements at IIT Delhi, Mr. I N Kar expressed that the internship hiring had commenced on a very optimistic note this year. The institute is confident that the same tempo will continue for the rest of the placement season, he added.

Training and Placement Cell Officer at IIT Delhi, Anishya Madan indicated that the students had multiple high-value internships this year. The institute is confident of a healthy placement season this year. According to the latest placement trends, most companies prefer internships, as it is a gateway to evaluate the performance of students before offering PPOs (Pre-Placement Offers). Internships will help students to gain experience and evaluate the company culture. Through internships, students can figure out whether the job would suit their personal career plans, he concluded.
