Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IITGN) at its annual two-day seventh edition of technical summit Amalthea 2016, that begins from 22nd October this year, intends to encourage school students in entrepreneurship.
Themed under ‘Technologizing Challenges’, the summit will host an event named ‘Innovent’. Students from various schools will participate in the event and present their technology-based entrepreneurial ideas.

An event coordinator for Amalthea’16 said that the event is based on the theme ‘Technopreneur’. They will invite students from different schools to participate in the event. The participants will have to present their business ideas. But these ideas will have to be innovative and technology based so that it benefits the society as well. It is open to all school students and the applications forms for the event can be downloaded from the website of Amalthea.
The participants will have to write an essay, not exceeding 500 words on the idea and submit it before 15th October 2016. On the day of the event, they will have to present the prototypes of those ideas.

A panel of jury will judge the entries on the basis of the following parameters:
- Creativity of the idea
- Amount of investment required in developing the actual product
- Applicability of the product in future
- Strategy to market the product
The best entries will be awarded. Another event coordinator said that the participants of Innovent will also get a chance to look at the issues from perspectives other than technology like design, management, and the impact of their product on the society.
A quizzing event called ‘Qz Warriors’ to test the general knowledge of the school students will also be organized.
