After students crack the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced examination, students are confused with their decision to choose among various engineering branches provided in the IITs. To tackle this problem, Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) offers free counseling to all those who have appeared for JEE Advanced Examination 2017 to help them clear their doubts and make them aware of the engineering courses in different IITs.

Every year, the institute conducts an Open House session after the examination results are declared. The Open House at IIT-Gn aims to provide counselling to both engineering aspirants as well as their parents with a deeper insight into IIT-Gn’s vision in the educational field, life of the students in Gandhinagar campus, what is going to fall in their way in the course curriculum in their journey of four years and so on. The varsity also organizes a campus tour for them.
The session was addressed by the Dean of Academic Affairs and various IIT-Gn faculty members of different disciplines. The participants were allowed to interact with the Dean of Academic Affairs (DoAA) and Student Affairs (DoSA), institute’s Director and faculty members of IIT Gandhinagar. Alumni are also invited for the same to share their experiences.
The Open House counseling sessions were held on June 3 and June 18 this year. Students and parents interested in taking part in the sessions had to either register themselves at the official portal of IIT Gandhinagar or had to contact the event coordinator.
