Deepika Soni from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT-G) has also been selected for the Cargill Global Scholarship programme. The Cargill Global Scholarship is a programme that supports undergraduate students who have displayed an incredible academic performance in the field of food, agriculture as well as risk management, as stated by an official release by IIT Gandhinagar.
As per the agreement of the Cargill Scholarship programme, Deepika Soni, an undergraduate electrical engineering student of the India Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, she will be awarded ₹1.73 lakhs or $2,500. She will be receiving the amount for two years each. As part of the scholarship programme, Deepika Soni will also be eligible for various opportunities which are offered by the Cargill Global Scholarship Programme which also include ‘leadership development’ with the help of case-study presentations, seminars, events for networking as well as a mentoring programme which will be done on a one to one basis.

On being selected for the programme, Deepika Soni commented stating that with the help of the scholarship award, she will be able to understand the global issues that are being faced in her field of education along with helping her complete her responsibility towards the society in the same respect. She also added that the Cargill Global Scholarship programme will help her avail the opportunities such as attending a Seminar which will be conducted in India this year, as well as attend a Global Seminar that will be conducted next year.
