Now students from all over Guwahati will have access to the state of the art incubation center at IIT Guwahati . This is a measure taken by the institute to promote startups in the northeast. Students from different educational institutes from the region can now visit the incubation center without hesitation.

This will prove to be a very helpful step for those who have big ideas in mind but do not have the right infrastructure to make them alive. So now students from all over the region can share their big ideas and pursue them with the help of the incubation center.
To avail this facility offered by IIT Guwahati, students will have to take part in the 'IITG-TIC Innovation Competition' and if shortlisted, will get a chance to use the IITG-Technology Incubation Centre (IITG-TUC) for incubating their ideas, developing them and commercialising them.

According to Labanu Konwar, IIT-G spokesperson this method adopted by the institute will provide the students with technology and financial assistance and will promote entrepreneurship to the students belonging to the northeast region.
North eastern students should utilise this opportunity and come up with projects and ideas that can make country a better place. Konwar also said that the students have a lot of potential and can come up with brilliant ideas to help the society, all they need is financial support and laboratory which IIT Guwahati is willing to provide to them. He also said that the students have already started to apply for the same and they have started receiving entries for the contest.

Some of the important fields in which students will be able to showcase their ideas include agriculture, women's empowerment and safety, handicraft, health, food processing and packaging, non-conventional energy, tourism and cottage industry.
