Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has initiated a Master’s Program in Liberal Arts organized by the Humanities and Social Sciences from the year 2022-2023. The first batch will be starting from the July session with 30 students based on specific criteria which are to be declared soon. The aim of the program is to cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary measures to students making them think critically and enhancing their ability in political, social, and aesthetic issues which is one of the issues of the present world making them align to NEPT 2020. With these measures, students will be able to make informed decisions and judgments keeping in mind the ethical implications.

About the Master’s Program in Liberal Arts
The program organized by IIT Guwahati will also propound opportunities for the interested learners to keep up with Digital Technology and Methodology, concentrate critically on technological paradigms, and solicit tools in Critical Humanities in praxis-based projects.

This course has been designed to take account of the new developments in academia including thinking across disciplines and including liberal art philosophy for enhancing life skills. The range of courses incorporating cores and electives in relation to the orientation of liberal arts. Ideas like Geospatial Analytics, Digital Humanities, International Relations, the study of Vernacular Literature and languages, and Area studies, etc.
