Coronavirus is creating panic among Indian people, and the availability of sanitisers and disinfectants has become very difficult. In this tough situation, IIT Hyderabad has developed a hand-sanitiser. According to the official information shared by the institute, the sanitiser has been manufactured as per the standards specified by WHO (World Health Organization) and CDC (Centres for Diseases Control).
The IIT Researchers who played a vital role in developing this hand sanitiser will not only use it for the staff and students of the institute, but also the neighbouring community. Almost 10 litres of hand-sanitiser has been made available in the campus for staff and students. The research team indicated that it is not wise to commercialize the product when the whole nation is panicking about the Coronavirus.
One of the members of IIT Hyderabad research team, Shivakalyani Adepu revealed that the sanitiser has been developed to support the community in critical times. The idea is not to use this for commercial purposes. Even though it is a small contribution from the team, this encourages them to make similar contributions in future.
