The official inauguration of 24 th National Conference on Communications (NCC) at IIT Hyderabad took place on February 26, 2018. However, the four-day national conference began on Sunday, February 24, 2018, which witnessed the participation of students and representatives from various institutes and organisations. NCC is a good platform for participants to access mutual learning opportunity .

An IIT Hyderabad student, Abhilash shared his experience on Day 1 of the NCC. He mentioned that students got a real-time learning experience on the first day from representatives from various industries who set up stalls at 24 th NCC . Through demonstrations, students were able to understand the exact activities that industries take up in various domains or fields, he added.
On the Day 1 of NCC, various industries demonstrated instruments such as: -
- Radar target emulation
- Wideband a real-time spectrum analyser
- Channel emulator
- Deployable software defined radios
- Massive MIMO testbed
- Direction finding
- Cognitive radio
- Visible light communications testbed
- Software designed networking testbed
- 5G Technology
- SDRs for Teaching Labs
Qualcomm Lab’s demonstration on 5G Technology is one of the major highlights on the first day of NCC.
Apart from the demonstrations on above-mentioned technologies, tutorials were held at different meeting halls from the morning. Representatives gave presentations on their work.

The inaugural session on Monday will be followed by several key programmes and panel discussions . The 24 th NCC will conclude on February 28, 2018.
