Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) will soon organise a three-day conference on ‘Composite Materials’. The conference will begin on December 27, 2017, and continue until December 29, 2017. Around 500 scientists from different organisations will give a detailed account of the significance of innovation in developing composite materials. It is an international conference, the theme of which will be ‘Recent Advances in Composite Materials and Structures’ due to its applicability in space, medicine, aircraft and automotive structures.

The international conference will witness the participation of renowned scientists from DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) and National Aerospace Laboratories. Industry representatives, students and research scholars will also participate in the conference.

Professor Amritham Rajagopal - Organising Secretary of the conference stressed that composite materials have brought a wave in traditional design concepts and made possible an unparalleled range of exciting and new possibilities as viable materials.
Professor U B Desai – Director of IIT Hyderabad pointed that composite materials is one of the interdisciplinary areas where structural engineers, mechanical engineers, chemical engineers, material scientists and chemists contribute to the overall product. The international conference on ‘Composite Materials’ will play a vital role in gathering the designers, manufacturers, users and researchers involved in understanding structural components manufactured with the help of composite materials. Therefore, he called all the scientists, research scholars and students to take part in the conference.
