The Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Rights (RGSOIPL) at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has decided to introduce a one-semester program on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Law that aims to help participants rethink about the modes of societal governance and law using the new era of hybrid sociology.
The course will take into account the paradigm shift which is prevalent due to the excessive involvement of artificial intelligence as an autonomous system which can invent and participate in inventions apart from creating new expressions such as music, dancing etc. The course will also enable candidates to raise questions on authorship, ownership of patents etc., elaborated Ms. Padmavati Manchikanta, Dean of RGSOIPL - IIT Kgp.
Furthermore, RGSOIPL is a leader in law education and focusses extensively on the technological aspect as it has a strong foundation for multi-disciplinary learning. With the introduction of Artificial Intelligence in legal education, the institute has made yet another remarkable feat in this domain. Around 56 students from the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) at IITKGP have already registered for the course.
