The Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence will open from March 2019 in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. IIT Kharagpur is in talks with the Telangana government for acquiring the land for the research park. The institute requires 15-20 acres of land for the establishment of the same.
The Centre of Excellence in AI will provide training to professionals in AI and to take up research and industry projects in the field of robotics, AI, cybersecurity and others.
Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana Principal Secretary IT and Industry informed that the government has already identified 2000 sqft land in Kukatpally to set up the AI centre. This is being done as a result of the fact that IIT Kharagpur is located in one corner of the country so they do not get many visiting faculties and industry connects.
