IIT Kharagpur to Introduce Course on Outsourcing Practices in India

IIT Kharagpur is set to introduce a new short-term course called the Outsourcing Practices in India. The programme will help to regulate a better work culture in the public and private sectors of the nation.

IIT Kharagpur to Introduce Course on Outsourcing Practices in India

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur is about to launch a new multidisciplinary short-term course on Outsourcing Practices in India. Being first of its type, the course is going to be introduced with the advice and guidance of the Central Government. The course will be introduced to modify and change the private and public sector work culture and teach the right practices that should be followed.

The course will be functional under the Department of Mining Engineering of IIT Kharagpur. In this course, students will know about the way of outsourcing work considering and justifying the ethical and legal approaches. The short-term programme will also teach the means of encouraging the best exercises in the Labour industry.

According to a press release circulated by the IIT Kharagpur, the Outsourcing course will also witness cooperation of resources from the Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Pollution Control Boards, International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) and related Regulatory Bodies.

Professor Jayanta Bhattacharya of School of Environmental Sciences and Engineering and Department of Mining Engineering said that it is an alarming situation for the private and public sectors to improve their work culture to satisfy the needs for best work practices, and yet claiming work efficiency. The course’s first batch will start with the professionals of coal and power sector, added Professor Jayanta.

Talking more about the course, Professor added that the short-term programme would include faculties from Mining Engineering, Vinod Gupta School of Management and Intellectual Property Law. The curriculum will also include focus on contractor and buyer relationship, procedural and legal safeguards, employee and goodwill protection, preparation of the contract, etc.
