IIT Kharagpur has launched a certificate course in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The institute has taken up the task of honing skills of engineers in the new technologies in this upcoming domain.
IIT Kharagpur will launch a six-month course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in March 2019. The certificate course will benefit working professionals and engineering students.
P P Chakrabarti, IIT Kharagpur Director informed that the programme will start from March and will take place from institute units in Kolkata, Kharagpur and Bangalore. He further said that the certificate programme in AI is the need of the hour. The demand for AI profession is growing day by day.

The primary aim of the certificate programme by IIT Kharagpur is to strengthen India’s talent pool in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The IIT Kharagpur Certificate Course in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will comprise 16 one-credit modules. The modules of the certificate programme are well-structured. It includes subjects such as artificial intelligence fundamentals, algorithmic foundations and others. The classes for the AI and Machine Learning course will be taken by IIT Kharagpur faculty and AI industry experts.

IIT Kharagpur launched the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in the year 2017. The aim of the research centre is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the engineering as per the industry trends. The centre has all the latest technologies and facilities such as the supercomputing facility, cloud computing and others. It will increase their employability and make them-job ready in the upcoming domain.
