Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) , a premier business school of IIT Kharagpur inked an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Singapore Management University (SMU) . Both parties signed the memorandum for a management programme in collaboration. The programme is called SMU-IITKGP Inclusive & Immersive Experimental Learning Programme and aims at providing students with managerial education combined with a business school experience.
Aim and Scope of SMU-IITK Collaborative Programme
The programme is expected to provide an experience like no other to encourage young minds for the application of classroom concepts in the world of business.
The programme launched by VGSoM-IITk in collaboration with SMU will provide experimental learning in a business school environment.
The scope of the programme includes immersion of programmes, student projects, reciprocal exchange of research with the teaching staff and more collaborations.
The programme is expected to enrich students’ managerial concepts and prepare them to apply classroom concepts and innovative ideas to put a global business to prosperity.

One of India’s top B-Schools , VGSoM signed this MoU with Singapore Management University to design a programme with a twofold objective. Not only does this management programme complements classroom learning with an international business perspective but also exposes students to an environment of functioning on a global platform.
25 students were selected for the programme through a rigorous selection process. The selected students were MBA (Master in Business Administration) and Executive MBA students at VGSOM. Students’ prior work experiences in diverse sectors were taken into account while the selection process. The programme helped students learn via classroom lectures on alternative investments, technological adaptation, portfolio management and innovation & entrepreneurship.
Under the endorsement of corporate giants like GSK, Citibank, DBS Bank, DondEValue and Lendingkart, students took up live industry projects for this programme adding up to its remarkable aspects. Students also showed their astuteness in a live simulation exercise. The exercise was done on Portfolio Management and was both, engaging as well as challenging.

Students were also taken on a field trip that threw light on technological adaptation and the global economy in an exchange through the Singapore Stock Exchange. Participants also got to grab the opportunity to get involved in a panel discussion. The discussion was carried out with leading business leaders of Asia. It provided exposure to the students to comprehend the Indian business system from a global perspective.
With a practical approach that is based on real-life challenges and projects, the programme sure did make students capable to solve exigent business problems using leading-edge solutions with clear fundamental business concepts.
