Indian Institute of Technology Madras has partnered with Northwestern University to launch joint research projects in the field of Network Science, Data Science, and Computational Social Science.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between IIT Madras and Northwestern University to introduce a joint research programme which will focus on the development of web-based software programmes and to facilitate team assembly and processes. Professor Ravindra Gettu, Dean, IIT Madras and Dr. Jonathan Holloway from Northwestern University signed the MoU on behalf of both the institutes.

Prof Ravindra, IIT Madras said that the collaboration between the two will help them to work on the problems related to network science at Northwestern University which is a leader in the respective field. He further said that the Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and AI at the institute has significant expertise in Data Science and other related fields. Also, this initiative is first of its kind which will help the institute to collaborate with global partners who have similar interests.

The first initiative under this platform is known as the Dream Team. This initiative is one of its kind that will focus on assembling people who have the same skill set. These platforms make use of the data collected and help recommend potential teammates and will also help in making managerial decisions by making use of theories in Data and Network science.
