The Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at IIT Madras has signed a pact with the e-Governance Agency of Tamil Nadu. The collaboration between the two will focus on enhancing data-driven governance in Tamil Nadu. As a part of the association, they will work in close proximity with many official branches and offices of the Tamil Nadu government.
The association between the two will help in bringing positive reforms in education, healthcare, agriculture and others. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Santhosh K. Misra, I.A.S, CEO, Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency and Professor Ravindra Gettu IIT Madras. The event was held in Chennai on 9th October 2018.

Dr. Nandan Sudarsanam, Assistant Professor, IIT Madras talked about the importance of the project. According to him, it will help in building a societal impact through Artificial Intelligence. Through this, the institute plans to help the government in various sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and education.
Santhosh K Misra who is an IAS Officer also expressed his happiness about this association and said that the government needs to move from demand mode to predictive mode of service delivery. According to his view, the government should provide citizens with services even before they ask.

Tamil Nadu Government is one of the first state governments of the country to partner with a premier institute like IIT Madras which will focus on AI and Blockchain Technology in sectors of education, health and agriculture.
