Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has come up with a startup to impart theoretical and practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence. The startup will train students in the field of AI at nominal costs.
The AI course will be open for all students, professionals, faculty who have basic knowledge about Python and Mathematics. The IIT Madras fees for the AI course (faculty and students) is Rs 1,000 whereas for working professionals the fee is Rs.5,000.

The AI programme will involve various activities such as capstone challenge and monthly contests, which will train the candidates to build the app that will work as a Google Lens for some of the Indian challenges.
The startup is known as One-Fourth Labs and also has an online school known as PadhaiAI. It offers affordable and India-specific courses on Artificial Intelligence. It is a four-month programme that will consist of 80 hours of lecture content.
The AI course will start from 1st January 2019 and the registration for the same will continue until 24th January 2019.
Meanwhile, the startup will also work towards creating AI- driven apps. The same will be done in association with Small and Medium Enterprises.
The founder of the AI startup at IIT Madras is Dr Mitesh M.Khapra and Dr Pratyush Kumar. They are Assistant Professors in the Deptt. of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Madras.

Dr. Mitesh Khapra talked about the importance of Artificial Intelligence in the growth of Indian economy and development. Currently, it is the age of AI and it requires strong mathematical skills and industry experience.
