In Patna, the campus placement drive in two premier engineering institutes ended and students grabbed attractive salary packages this year. The placements at the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT) and at the National Institute of Technology, Patna (NIT) concluded successfully and many students bagged job offers with a lucrative salary.
Job offers were made to students in numbers of hundreds. There were jobs pertaining to all profiles- product manager, software engineer, associate consultant, research engineer, scientist, analyst, and many others. The number of companies that visited these two institutes for placements had also increased this year. So did the average salary package.
About 80 private and government firms gave offer letters to over 80 percent of B.Tech students of IIT Patna, whereas around 93.9 percent B.Tech students of NIT Patna received job offers from 54 private and government companies.
The highest package was given by Adobe Systems India Private Limited to a student of computer science engineering at NIT Patna, Nancy Kumari. She received an offer letter by the company with an annual package of Rs. 40.63 lakhs. Two students were hired by Amazon India with a salary of Rs. 27.5 lakhs per annum and five students were recruited by Sabre with an annual salary package of Rs. 14 lakhs.
The placement comprised several rounds of tests and interviews. Students also had to appear for a coding test. Samrat Mukherjee is a professor at Nit Patna and he was in charge of the placement cell. He told that the institute was approached by several new companies with good job offers. The average package offered to the students of NIT ranged between Rs. 6.5 lakhs Rs. 7.9 lakhs annually. There were a total of 399 students in the B.Tech batch and 375 out of them have been hired.

In IIT Patna, the highest package was given by D E Shaw which was rs, 33.5 lakhs per annum. Code Nation and Arcesium also offered lucrative salary packages with the highest package being Rs. 31.5 lakhs and Rs. 32.5 lakhs respectively. A student of IIT Patna was hired by the Japanese firm, Fujifilm with an annual package of Rs. 36 lakhs.
