After, IIT Madras and IIT Delhi , IIT- Kanpu r have introduced Yoga programme in their course curricular for all the students and faculty. Most of the top management colleges and Engineering colleges of UP are to adopt yoga in their Curriculum for the welfare of staff and students. It is believed that the incorporation of yoga programme would facilitate students to perform better in their studies and future careers.
According to the sources, the yoga curriculum for all the educational institutions would be designed by Dr H.R Nagendra, who is also the yoga guru of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is the Vice-chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bangalore. Mr Nagendra has previously been a mechanical engineer and academic writer, presently he is a yoga therapist who helps many in attaining enlightenment and inner peace.

While talking to a leading news newspaper, a senior faculty member of IIT- Kanpur said that the initiative to launch yoga as a part of the curriculum would be extended to other college and universities of Uttar Pradesh. He also added that the students pursuing engineering and management courses often have to work under pressure and unfavourable circumstances which can further lead to anxiety, depression and even suicide in certain cases, with the introduction of yoga, a student would learn stress management and inner peace to work efficiently even in the most unfavourable conditions.
IITs of Delhi and Chennai have already incorporated yoga in their curricular and are getting excellent results out of it. The previous year, IIM - Ahmedabad introduced Bhagavad Gita lessons to help students cope up with the excruciating work life.

It is most likely to say that the yoga course in the curriculum would help students in innumerable ways and students would definitely perform better in both their academics and prospective jobs.
