Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad celebrated its annual convocation for the year 2016.
The chief guest of the convocation was Uday Kotak, Executive VC & MD, Kotak Mahindra Bank and the convocation revolved around the theme ‘Conquering Conventions’.
Uday Kotak, Executive VC & MD, Kotak Mahindra Bank, said: “this is an exciting time with so many alternatives for fresh graduates today as they can either join corporate sector or can form a startup”.
The ceremony was presided over by Kamal Nath, President, Governing Council of IMT Ghaziabad. Addressing the convicts, he said, “Management education has a cutting-edge role to play in societal and economic development. The focus has to be on developing global leaders and managers, equipped with appropriate skills. It is also important to strengthen the inter-linkages between entrepreneurship, employability and management education.”
Addressing the convocation, Uday Kotak said, “It is a pleasure to be present among the next generation of business leaders. This is an exciting time with so many alternatives for fresh graduates today. You can have the option of joining the corporate sector or consider starting or joining a ‘start-up’. Therefore, an appropriate decision making by all of you in planning your future is important.”
722 students received their diplomas in the convocation
Diplomas distributed were of the following three programmes:
- PGDM
- PGDM (Executive)
- PGDM (Part-time).
The alumnus Sunil Kataria, Business Head (India and SAARC) – Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) was awarded the ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award 2016’.
