India has dropped by three places on the list of global talent competitiveness. Now ranked 92nd, India has been measured on the basis of talent index that measures the growth of a country.

India has been pushed back by three places on the list of global talent competitiveness. Now ranked 92 nd , India has been measured on the basis of talent index that measures the growth of a country, ability to retain and attract talent.

India was placed on the 89 th spot in 2016. Among the five BRICS countries, India has performed the worst. Switzerland leads the list and has been placed above all countries.

INSEAD published the list that was produced in collaboration with The Adecco Group and the Human Capital Leadership Institute of Singapore (HCLI). According to the report published by INSEAD, BRICS countries need to work harder as none of them are performing well. Both India and China’s ranks have slipped this year.

India has slipped due to its failure in retaining and attracting talent. The problem will not be resolved unless India focuses on improving it regulatory and market conditions, added the report.

Ain drain has been sighted as one of the biggest issues for India. A lot of exceptionally talented individuals graduate every year but India is not able to retain them and most of them leave the country to find better prospects abroad.
