Indian Government Offers Coronavirus Internships To MBA Students

The Government of India has proposed a coronavirus internship to MBA students. This 8-week long internship will require students to support Special Empowered Groups in key operations such as data analysis. MBA students will be able to join the fight against coronavirus while working from home.

Indian Government Offers Coronavirus Internships To MBA Students

The Indian Government has written to several prominent management colleges in India in a bid to gather MBA students as interns. These MBA interns will work under Special Empowered Groups and help the government in tackling the COVID-19 crisis. The internship will be 8 weeks long and will require students to support their assigned group in the fight against Coronavirus.

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) , Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon and Indian School of Businesses (ISB) are some of the institutes that have received the written request from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions. Other colleges on the list include Indian Institute of Public Administration and TERI.

As per the information provided to the institutes, students will work on key regions such as data analysis and providing policy inputs based on evidence during the course of this internship. Candidates selected for this internship will be required to work from home.

Selection Process of The Internship

Given below is how a candidate will be able to get selected for the Coronavirus Internship with the Indian Government.

  • The government has asked the institutes to collect the names of the students who are interested in pursuing this internship.

  • The institutes will then propose the names of the candidates to the government.

  • Online interviews will be conducted to select the final interns from the list of candidates.

  • A candidate's previous academic performance and work experience will also be considered along with their performance in the interview for final selection.
