India’s star gymnast Dipa Karmakar secured fourth-place finisher at Rio Olympics. She has proved herself in sports and now she aspires to complete her masters as well. Apart from her aspirations to win gold in the 2020 Tokyo Games, she aspires to hold a Master of Arts degree soon.
Her dedication could be seen in both studies and sports. Just a day after coming back from Rio, Dipa sat for her second semester MA exams at the Distance Learning Centre of Tripura University. She had landed in Agartala from Rio just on Monday, just a day before the exam.
Soon she will be getting a Masters Degree in Political Science in her name.

When she showed up at the examination center, officials at Tripura University were also left amazed and praised her for her dedication towards academics. They also commented that she should be taken as an example for all those people who try to skip the exams and find excuses to not attend the exam.
According to Dr. KB Jamatia, director of Distance Education at Tripura University she is an example for all the other students for winning laurels for the country and despite her sports achievements, is also studying side by side to acquire higher education.

On having a chat with Dipa's family, it was found that from the very beginning, Dipa has given importance to both sports and education and despite spending most of her time practicing, she always makes sure that she does not neglect her studies. Dipa was so dedicated in getting a degree, she even took books along with her to to Rio so that she could study and prepare herself for her exams.
Dipa’s dedication for both sports and academics was inspired by many including the fellow examinees. Dipa’s classmate commented that people of Tripura are proud of Dipa as she chose both education and sports and successfully took them forward side by side.
