India’s First Design University ‘World University of Design’ Opens Campus in Haryana

The World University of Design, the first design university in India has opened its campus in Sonipat, located in Haryana. Om Prakash Bansal Educational and Social Welfare Trust of Mandi, which has more than two decades of presence in higher education is promoting the university. The campus of the World University of Design is equipped with all the latest infrastructure and world-class facilities.

The World University of Design has international collaborations with popular varsities and institutes such as the Italian University of Design, the Vancouver Film School and the University of West Scotland. The varsity is also planning to collaborate with Emily Carr University – Canada, Oxford Brookes University – UK and Huddersfield University – UK.

The World University of Design offers India’s largest creative catalogue – 23 specialised PG and UG programmes in different design areas such as architecture, design and retail management, visual arts, communication, fashion and design. The varsity follows an outstanding and unique curriculum that encourages social innovation, industry preparedness, academic excellence and research. The varsity is also bestowed with experienced faculty from reputed institutes in India and world.

Director General World University of Design, Dr. Sanjay Gupta revealed that the contemporary design would play a vital role in creating values and contributing to the well-being of nation, competitiveness and prosperity. The varsity will consistently work towards empowering youth to take ownership of journey towards a sustainable economy, he concluded.

At the World University of Design, students have access to facilities like high-tech labs and workshops including air-conditioned studios, pattern making, printmaking, fully functional Machine Shop, Apple iMac based CAD rooms and model making the workshop.
