International Skill Summit and Skill Fiesta will be organized by the Kerala government next year to project the competency standards and global employability of youth in the state to the employers worldwide.
The skill fiesta will offer the participants with an opportunity to test and display their skills to a wide audience that comprises policymakers, top industrialists, key government officials and general public.
As per newspaper reports, it will be three-day summit, titled 'Nypunyam 2016'. The same will be jointly organised by Directorate of Employment and Training and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence during February 5 to 7.
He also said that Kerala is known as the skill capital of the country and that they have already implemented several projects, which are model for the whole country, in that area. But the realisation that they have a long way to go to compete with the global players have prompted them to come up with such an event.
There will be 12 trades including welding, plumbing, fashion technology, automobile technology, catering and restaurant service, mobile robotics, fitter, electrician, bakery and confectionery, carpentry, electronics and computer-aided design through stipulated institutions, and students and others below 25 years of age will be invited to participate in it.
