On Monday i.e. 1st August’ 16, an international workshop started on the topic ‘Heterogeneous Catalysis and Applications.’ The workshop is organised mostly for scholars, scientists and researchers under the GIAN scheme at Panjab University. The workshop will last till 7th August’ 16 and is sponsored by CRIKC which is the Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster. The GIAN scheme is organised under the Global Initiative of Academic Networks and almost 50 people have participated in it till now.
S.K Mehta who is the local coordinator and director of CIL/SAIF at Panjab University welcomed everybody and gave a speech. In his speech, he mentioned the importance of GIAN and the objective of the workshop. All the participants were extremely excited to be a part of the workshop as the topic is very exclusive.
Panjab University’s Vice Chancellor, Arun Grover who is a professor at the University said that there is a very high need to organise workshops on such exclusive topics very often and everybody should attend them as the government is making an effort to make a change under GIAN scheme. He also said that workshops like these are very beneficial for everybody.
