Is Round 5 Final Round for JoSAA Counselling 2024? Until last year, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducted 6 rounds of JoSAA counselling. This year, Round 6 is scraped from the admissions process for all institutes: IIT, NIT, IIIT, and GFTI. Admissions to IITs will strictly be conducted in 5 rounds only. But for NIT + System admissions, two rounds will be held under CSAB Special Counselling 2024. IIT admissions will not be conducted under CSAB Special. So unlike the previous years, JoSAA admission counselling 2024 will conclude on July 17 with the Final 5th round of allocations. The reporting process will follow afterwards until July 23.

For NIT+ System, the initiation of withdrawal of seats allotted in Round 5 will continue from July 17 to July 22, 2024 (until 5 PM). Depending on their preference, the online payment for the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) for CSAB Special will continue from July 24 to 5 PM on July 26. The registrations for CSAB Special 2024 starts on July 31 while all the remaining vacancies after JoSAA 2024 counselling will be published on July 29. Applicants may take part in JoSAA counselling 2024 if they have a valid rank in JEE Main or JEE Advanced. To view the seat allocation result, candidates had to log in with their JEE Main 2024 roll number and password. The seat allocation to  IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is based on ranks, preference, and availability of seats. Do note that the number of institutes taking part in JoSAA has been extended by two institutes. The Central University of Jharkhand and the Gati Shakti Vishwa Vidhyalaya, Vadodara are the new establishments. Students who will be assigned a seat must download their seat allotment letter. After obtaining the JoSAA 2024 counselling allotment letter, students must pay seat acceptance fees of Rs.35,000/- (Rs 15,000/- for reserved category).
