For the first time in the country, Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Pune is all set to introduce short-term courses in mechatronics and robotics from this academic year. Apart from regular students, the courses will also be open to former ITI students.
Yogesh Patil, Deputy Director, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training in Pune said that students who run their own businesses or are employed in companies across the country often return to ITI for some advanced courses and training to enhance their skillset.
According to him, new courses such as mechatronics and robotics are the need of the hour with industries becoming fully automated. The demand for professionals who can understand machine-labor techniques is on the high. The training for these courses at ITI will be pocket-friendly as compared to private institutes so that maximum applicants can register and seek the benefit of the course curriculum and undergo advanced training.
