Jadavpur University, West Bengal has announced admissions to engineering, arts and science programmes for the academic session 2017. The varsity has also issued an official notification for the admission to the Ph.D. programme. Usually, the varsity conducts the selection process for Ph.D. programme twice a year, ie., April – May and December – January.
Before applying to various programmes of Jadavpur University, the applicants must note that WBJEE score is the main criterion for the admission to undergraduate programmes. GATE score is the main criterion for the admission to M.Tech programme, and UGC-NET is mandatory for the admission to the Ph.D. programme. The candidates who have these scores can apply to the varsity, and take part in the counselling process.

The candidates who do not have a valid GATE score need to appear for an entrance examination conducted by Jadavpur University. While selecting the candidates, the varsity gives 50% weightage of marks to B.Tech degree and rest to the entrance test conducted by the varsity.
For Arts and Science courses, each department conducts a separate entrance examination. All the applicants of these courses need to qualify in the entrance examination to seek admission.

The varsity also offers the M.Phil programme, and the applicants need to have a valid GATE/ UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/ SLET score to seek admission. All the applicants must have atleast 55% of marks in Master’s degree.
Eligible candidates can apply through the official website of Jadavpur University on or before May 25, 2017. The applicants must save the registration number after filling the application for future references.
