Jamia Millia Islamia Offers Option to Apply Under Sports Category for UG & PG Courses

Jamia Millia Islamia has provided an option to the students through which they can apply under sports category for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For the academic year, 2020-2021 students who have excelled in the field of sports or have participated in the National, State or University level sports competitions can seek admission under the sports category at the varsity. However, to avail the advantage, students are required to produce a certificate issued by the bodies funded and recognised by the MYAS (Ministry of Youth Affairs).

As per the notice, all undergraduate and postgraduate students can make use of this added feature by JMI except for Faculties of Engineering & Technology, Dentistry, Architecture and Ekistics, Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, AJK MCRC. The application window to register under the sports category has been activated by the university on August 10, 2020. Students can apply until September 16, 2020 till 11:59 PM.

Certificates of Memorial, Open, Invitational, Prize Money League or Ranking tournaments will not be regarded as eligible for admission under sports category. Sports category students will be awarded a relaxation of 5% marks in the concerned subject or aggregate depending on the course opted by the candidate.
