With an objective to strengthen the academic ties with Jamia Millia Islamia University, an eight-member delegation from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh has begun a four-day visit to Jamia. The main objective of the visit is to fix up the areas of cooperation that include training-cum-study programmes, joint-conference, students exchange, faculty exchange and others.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Jamia and University of Rajshahi in June 2015. The visit of an eight-member delegation from the varsity is to follow up of the MoU.

Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia expressed that the varsity is committed to fruitful institutional exchanges in research, education and training. The MoU was signed under the India-Bangladesh Education initiative. Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed the MoU during his visit to Dhaka in 2015. The main objective of the initiative is to promote academic interest on a large scale between the two nations.

Prof. Muhammad Mizanuddin, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Rajshahi thanked the VC of Jamia for making the visit possible. He indicated that through this collaboration, both teachers and students will be benefitted as the educational exchanges and programmes will play a crucial role.
On this occasion, short films of both the varsities were screened. Deans of various faculties interacted with the officials. The major topics for the discussion were research and academic programmes. The eight-member delegation also interacted with the HODs of various departments and faculty members. The delegation asked the VC of Jamia to prepare a blueprint for rigorous academic ties.
