Prakash Javdekar, Minister of Human Resource and Development, appealed the students to play a significant role in transforming the current cash-centric society into a cashless society. On this occasion, he asked the students to take part in the digital financial literacy campaign that was launched on December 12, 2016. He expressed that around one lakh students have registered their names as volunteers for the campaign.

On the other hand, he appreciated the management of SP College where around 7,000 students have been registered for the campaign. He advised the colleges to encourage students to register their names for the campaign.
Digital Literacy Campaign, also called as Vitta Saksharata Abhiyan (VISAKA), was launched on December 12, 2016. The campaign received tremendous response from students within a week. It is time for the students to educate people regarding various modes of digital payments. For this purpose, all colleges have started organising a training programme for students to educate them on online transactions.

Javadekar further added that students are the pillars of the nation and without them, social change is not possible. The development of a country depends upon the role of the students. Hence students must play an essential role in bringing changes in the society.
He further explained that most of the revolutions that took pace across the world due to the power of youth. Therefore, it is time for the students to raise hands for digital revolution and create awareness among the rural people regarding online transactions.
