HRD minister Prakash Javadekar has accepted Panjab University’s invitation to visit the university Campus in September. The invitation was sent by Prof. Arun Kumar Grover, Vice-Chancellor of the University, asking the minister to take a tour down the campus.
Javadekar was made aware of the concerns that surround the university by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Grover and Satya Pal Jain, Member of the PU senate, Additional Solicitor General and Member of Law Commission, Government of India. The meeting was held in New Delhi and discussed the current situation of the University.

The minister assured the officials of Panjab University that he will get all the facts from officials of the MHRD and UGC in order to help them sort out the problems. If required, the vice-chancellor and the minister will meet again in New Delhi, added Javadekar.
Talking about the meeting, Sat Pal Jain said that the minister was made aware of the financial crisis that the university faces. The minister agreed to look into the matter and hence was invited to visit, added Jain. He also said that he is hopeful that the problem will be resolved as the response of the HRD minister was very positive.
The same issue will also be put up by the ABVP members in front of the minister and a memorandum regarding the same will be submitted. They also plan to invite the minister to the campus for a youth program by reaching out to him. They might also reach out to the minister and meet him in Delhi.
