Jay Dharmendrabhai Seth Emerges as Topper of CA IPC November 2017 Exam

On January 28, 2018, ICAI announced the results of CA IPC (Intermediate Professional Competency) November 2017 examination. A 19-year old boy, Jay Dharmendrabhai Seth emerged as the topper of IPC Examination by scoring 530 out of 700 marks (75.71%).

Jay Dharmendrabhai belongs to a family of small traders. No one from his family studied much. After completing Class 12, his grandfather motivated him to take up higher studies and achieve greater heights.

At present, Jay is pursuing second-year B.Com course at G B Shah College of Commerce, Ahmedabad . He used to study until midnight in the hostel along with his friends. Everyone had done their best to qualify the IPC Exam, the topper added.

Along with Jay, many students from the college appeared for IPC Exam and qualified with good percentage.

Jay’s aim is to clear CA Final. He said that he would prepare for CA Finals along with his hostel mates.

Susarala Arvind Jayaram from Kolkata bagged AIR 2 with 75.14% (526 out of 700 marks) and Simran Kessar from Navi Mumbai secured AIR 3 by scoring 74.43% (521 out of 700 marks), respectively.

ICAI conducted IPC November 2017 exam in 419 centres across the country. Over, 2.13 lakh students appeared for the exam.

Out of 72,148 students appeared for IPC Group 1 Exam, 13.92% of candidates (10,042) have cleared the exam. Similarly, 13,330 (20.38%) of students cleared IPC Group 2 exam out of 65,393 candidates.
